Entry for 20th May 2017 Challenge
Nordic Walking is a fast growing activity, for all ages and fitness levels to gain fitness, lose weight and improve your health.
Unlike when walking, Nordic Walking poles are planted behind you in order to propel you along. This engages the upper body and makes you feel lighter on your feet. Ultra runners sometimes use Nordic Walking poles.
One of our Kong Mini Mountain Marathon organisers, Janneke Gorzeman, is a qualified Nordic Walking instructor. Check out her website here.
As part of our 2 evening Kong Mini Mountain Marathons on the 20th May 2017 and 15th July 2017, we are organising a 4-5 mile circular route (sign posted, no navigation required) for Nordic Walkers. The location is in the White Peak (South Peaks) in the Peak District National Park. The first one was on the 20th May 2017 in Dovedale. Our second event is on Saturday 15th July in the Macclesfield Forest area starting from Tegg's Nose Country Park Car Park.
You can start any time between 6:30 and 7 pm. Time registration is via an electronic dibber (which can be hired for £2 - see entry). The course remains open until 10:00 pm.
The price is £11 per person via online entry.
Entry on the day available, £14, but best to call us on 07760558031 or 07469895267 to check if places are available.
Prizes will be available for the first Man and first Woman. To take part in the race, you must have nordic walking poles. Running is not allowed, at least one foot must be on the ground at all times.
