Each race is 4 hours of superb Open Access fell running and navigation in a Mini Mountain Marathon type score and linear format. Food (soup, bread and cakes) & hot drinks after the race is included. SPORTident chip timing. Enter as solos or pairs in a variety of age categories. The exact location of each race will be announced one month before the event. Final information is send out circa one week before the race. Registration opens at 7:30 am. Start is any time between 08:15 and 10 am. The course closes at 3 pm.

Prices for FRA (Fell Runners Association) and WFRA (Welsh Fell Runners Association) are £25 per person via on line entry or £28 on the day. For Non FRA / WFRA members the entry fee is £28 on line or £31 on the day. This includes water-resistant, full colour map and lunch. An electronic dibber can be hired for £2 per person if you don't own one yourself. For most races we do have entry on the day available, but as we might not have enough maps or electronic hire dibbers, it is best to call us on 07760 558031 or 07469 895267 or email us on info@minimountainmarathon.co.uk to check if there are places available

2023 Series

Two hours of superb fell running & navigation in a Mini Mountain Marathon type score event. Ideal as a training event, a nice active evening out in the outdoors or to try out the Mini Mountain Marathon format. As it is a score event everybody can set out a route that matches their ability. Strong walkers are welcome as well.

We are planning again to hold this event in Dovedale close to where we live, but we still have to get permission from the National Trust. It could therefore also be organised in another area in the White Peak, Peak District, if we can't secure that permission.

Registration is open 5-6 pm on the day. Start any time between 5 and 6 pm, however you NEED to select a start time on SI entries. Try to arrive 30 minutes before your chosen start time. At the start line you will be given a waterproof map and a control description/value sheet. The course remains open until 8:30 pm. £12 per person for FRA members and £14 for non FRA members via on line entry (includes waterproof, full colour map). Entry on the day possible for an additional £3.

Weather conditions/postponements/entry fees: in the event of inclement weather, we will do our utmost to run the events but safety will not be compromised under any circumstances. Should we have to postpone an event all entries and fees will be transferred to a re-scheduled date; if you cannot make this date then entry fees will be held over as a credit towards future Mini Mountain Marathons OR refunds will be given less a 25% admin fee (to cover our ongoing event costs).

Cancellations or transfers for injuries or other reasons: We don’t provide refunds and cancellations for any circumstances. Up to two weeks before the race it is possible to request a transfer to a future event in the same series (same year). After two weeks we can not honour transfers as most of the cost for the race will have been made.

If you hire a dibber from us you are responsible to return it unharmed. If you loose a dibber we will have to charge you the replacement cost of one - £30. If you break a dibber we will charge half the cost of a replacement - £15.

The category you fall in is determined based on your age on the first of January or the oldest runner in your pair. We also have an Under 23 category (based on the youngest runner in a pair), but the SiEntries system cannot apply more than one age rule. Therefore please let us know at registration and we will change the category for you.

The Kong Mini Mountain Marathon series 2023 comprises of three x 4 hour fell running & navigation events in the Lake District, the Peak District and North Wales. The exact location of the event will be announced one month before the race. Best 2 results count towards a final league score with great prizes (vouchers from our sponsor Kong Adventure). Next to our 2023 Mini MM series we are organising a 2 hour evening race in the Peaks as well as a 1 day Kong Mountain Trial in Central Scotland in 2023.

Each event is a challenging and testing event across moorland, fell or mountainous terrain. In the score event everybody can set out a route that matches their ability. Strong walkers are welcome. NEW, Linear route: The linear route is a sequence of check points determined by us - the distance and climbing varies per race, but will be circa 15-20 km and 1000m of climbing. For the linear route the time determines the position and 'series score value' (your time/winner's time x 1000 per race).

After the race there is plenty of time to share your stories with your fellow competitors over a hearty lunch with hot/cold drinks. Our homemade soup and specially the homemade cakes are well known.
